A Caregiver's Promise

Today I make a promise to myself

I will not suppress requests in my heart.

Instead I give myself permission to ask

For the things I want,

Things that will make my mission to

care less stressful.

I affirm my openness,

I affirm my willingness,

to make my request known.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

   Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,

People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

   Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,

You will win some false friends and some true enemies.

   Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.

   Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building

   someone could destroy overnight.

   Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.

   Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will forget tomorrow.

   Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.

Give the world the best you have anyway…

Seeing is Believing

It can't be seen or touched.

It is frequently perceived as out of reach.

Faith's moral principles reign supreme.

It is within our grasp to sustain and fill our cup,

    if we would only believe.

Faith is a gift.

Faith is within our power to grasp and take hold.

Without faith we miss out on God's eternal blessings.

Depend on faith.

Trust faith.

Faith fades if we do not have trust.

When life test our faith,

We should not waver,

We should not flounder,

instead we should stand on faith with the stillness

     faith requires,

we should trust faith with an open heart to life lessons,

keeping in mind that God loves a cheerful heart.

So we must open ourselves to life lessons,

     and have faith be strong.

Psalm 20:1-5

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;

may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

May he send you help from the sanctuary

and grant you support from Zion.

May he remember all your sacrifices

and accept your burnt offerings. Selah.

May he give you the desire of your heart

and make all your plans succeed.

We will shout for joy when you are victorious

and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.

He Will Be There

When you don't know what to do

and it seems that all is lost,

you can stand still be patient and He will be there.

When all seems lost and you have nothing left to pay the cost,

you can stand still, be patient and He will be there.

When your family and friends don't understand

            the pain you presently feel,

you can stand still, be patient and He will be there.

Standing still requires faith and discipline,

doing what you want requires none,

so stand still and I guarantee He will be there.

When you are going through the trials of Job

and you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel,

you can stand still, be patient and He will be there.

Standing still and understanding His will

            requires trust and patience.

So stand still, be patient and He will be there.
